8 Things You Can Make With Your Immersion Blender

Your kitchen is incomplete if you don’t have an immersion blender. It’s convenience of use, easy cleaning, versatility and the fact that it takes up very little space in your kitchen has given it an irreplaceable place in almost all modern kitchens. In addition to making soups, which they are best known for, they also provide their services in making sauces, dips, smoothies, milkshakes, pancakes and much more. To make a traditional Italian pesto, add some basil, garlic cloves, pine nuts, parmesan and a little olive oil to a tall container or the pitcher that comes with the immersion blender. Add salt and pepper to taste. Blend with your immersion blender until you get a smooth paste. You can use it as a spread on sandwiches, add it to pasta or use it any other way you please!

Add ½ cup oil (preferably olive oil) little by little while the blender is running. You can add more oil till you get the correct consistency.

Roast 2 cups cherry tomatoes in a preheated oven until they become soft. In a saucepan, add 3 tbsp olive oil and turn on the flame. Add 2 minced garlic cloves and ½ chopped onion. When the onions are soft, add roasted tomatoes, 3 cups chicken broth, 1 tbsp fresh basil and salt and pepper to taste. After the mixture boils, let it cook on low flame for 20 minutes. Blend the soup using your immersion blender.

In a big pot add 12 cups chopped cherry tomatoes, 3 cups chopped onions, 1 cup chopped cilantro, 15 cloves of chopped garlic, 6 cayenne chilies, ¾ cup vinegar, ¼ cup lemon juice and 1 tbsp salt. Cook for about 20 minutes on medium flame. Blend the ingredients with your immersion hand blender. Blend for another 20 minutes stirring at intervals. Store it in sealed jars.

In a tall container, add 1 egg yolk, 1 tsp water, 1 tsp lemon juice and salt to taste. Melt 8 tbsp butter in a sauce pan and then transfer it to a separate beaker. Immerse the blender in the mixture with the egg yolk and turn it on. Add butter little by little with the blender still running until all the butter has been used up. You can pour this delicious sauce over steamed fish, baked chicken or any other way you like.

Sauté 1 medium chopped onion with 2 tbsp oil in a pot. Add 1 clove chopped garlic. Add 3 ½ cups tomato puree, ½ cup brown sugar, ¼ cup vinegar, 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp mustard, ¼ tsp allspice powder and 2 tsp red pepper flakes. When the mixture boils let it cook for about 45 minutes stirring at intervals. Use an immersion blender to puree the mixture into a smooth paste. Transfer your homemade ketchup to a sealed month. You can refrigerate it and enjoy fresh ketchup for up to 1 month!

Yes! You can even make desserts with your immersion blender! Feast your kids with this easy to make, delicious banana ice cream. Take two frozen bananas, peel them and put them in a tall container. Blend them until you get a smooth texture. It was this simple! Your ice cream is ready. Transfer it to a serving bowl and pour chocolate syrup and top it with a cherry if you like!
