Top 5 baby food recipes that you can make with Blender

When your baby reaches 4 to 6 months of age, it’s time to start them on solid food. You can buy baby food from the stores as well but it is preferred that you make baby food at home to feed your baby with fresh and nutritious meals. Another plus point of making your own baby food is that it saves loads of money! In the initial stages make single ingredient meals for your babies and give 2 to 3 days before introducing a new food so that you can pinpoint any food allergies. After you have tried a couple of ingredients, you can also combine them in recipes. Here are some super-easy recipes you can try in your baby food blender:

Storing Baby Food:

You do not have to go through the trouble of making baby food every day. You can make large batches of two or three different kinds of recipes at once and store them in ice cube trays in the freezer. Once the food has frozen, transfer them into sealed freezer bags labeled with the date it was stored and the type of food. You can take out in advance the number of cubes required for each meal time, thaw them and reheat them before feeding.

Some additional tips:

  1. It is very important to wash your hands before you handle baby food. Our baby’s immune system has not developed completely yet so we need to be extra careful when it comes to hygiene.
  2. Wash all the pots, tools and utensils thoroughly that you are going to use to make baby food.
  3. Wash the vegetables and fruits thoroughly before using them in the recipe.
  4. Use separate cutting boards, one for meat and fish and another for fruits and vegetables to prevent cross contamination between foods.
  5. Do not leave food outside the refrigerator for more than 2 hours. You can use refrigerated baby food for over 3 days. If you want to store it for longer, freeze the food. Food will stay fresh in the freezer for up to 2 months.
  6. Check the temperature of the food before feeding your baby. Allow it to cool if it is too hot.
  7. Babies tend to leave a lot of left overs while feeding and mothers tend to store it for later use. This, however, is not a good practice at all. The leftover food has baby’s saliva in it which promotes bacterial growth in the food making it unsuitable for consumption. Discard any leftover food.
